Getting Started with AI
Your starting point for exploring AI tools, platforms, and hardware recommendations.
For the most part you can interact with most mainstream AI chat bots like you're speaking with a person. However the real way to interact is through prompt engineering.

Where to start using AI?
There are a ton of options out there but probably the easiest and most mainstream place to start using AI is simply interacting with OpenAI's ChatGPT.

How to interact with AI?
Prompt engineering is the process of designing and crafting prompts to effectively elicit desired responses from language models or other AI systems. It involves understanding the capabilities and limitations of the AI system, as well as the nuances of natural language, to create inputs that guide the model to produce accurate, relevant, and coherent outputs. This can be particularly important in applications like chatbots, content generation, summarization, translation, and decision support systems. Effective prompt engineering often requires iterative testing and refinement based on feedback from the AI system's responses.

Imagine you have a magical helper (let's call it an AI) that can do amazing things, but to make it work well, you need to give it the right instructions. Prompt engineering is about learning how to give those instructions effectively.
Prompt: This is like telling your friend what you want them to do. For example, if you say, "Can you bring me a glass of water?" that's a prompt.
Engineering: This means figuring out the best way to do something. It’s like when you build with blocks and try different ways to make a tower that stands tall.
Prompt Engineering is about figuring out the best way to tell an AI what you want it to do, so it understands clearly and gives you the best possible answer or result.
Think of using a search engine like Google:
Good Prompt: If you type "Best pizza place in New York," the search engine understands exactly what you're looking for and shows you helpful results.
Bad Prompt: If you just type "Pizza," the search engine might show lots of different things about pizza, which isn't as useful.
Steps to Good Prompt Engineering:
Be Clear: Tell the AI exactly what you need.
Be Specific: Give details so the AI knows exactly what to do.
Ask Directly: Use clear and straightforward language.
Example:
Bad Prompt: "Tell me about cats."
The AI might give you general information about cats, which isn't very specific.
Good Prompt: "What are some fun cat breeds for families with kids?"
The AI gives you a list of cat breeds that are good with children.
So, prompt engineering is all about learning how to ask the right questions in a clear and specific way so that your AI helper can give you exactly what you need!
